Monday, February 27, 2012 at 12:57PM Goodbye February...Hello March! This week we are celebrating Dr. Seuss by reading a variety of his books. On February 29, Kindergarten book logs and reports are due. Please let me know if anyone needs another copy. Next, on March 2, we are taking a field trip to the Alder Planetarium. Also, March 3 is Ball and Auction!! I hope to see you all there. This year I am bringing a student and a friend to Glazed Expressions to paint. Lastly, THANK YOU Mrs. Guzina for all of your hard work with our class book! It looks amazing!!!
Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 11:35AM February is a month filled with many fun activities. This month we will celebrate Catholic Schools Week, the 100th Day of School, Valentine's Day, President's Day, and the beginning of Lent! During Catholic Schools Week, our class was chosen to learn about St. Benedict. We learned many fun facts that we have on our St. Benedict poster outside of our classroom. On Friday February 10, Kindergarten is going to celebrate the 100th day of school with different 100 day activities. In addition, the students will make a t-shirt at home with 100 things on their shirt. In the morning, we will have a parade to show off our wonderful t-shirts! Next, we are going to celebrate Valentine's Day on February 14. On Valentine's Day, each student will bring in twenty Valentine cards for each student in our class. Each student will place a Valentine in their classmate's box (the valentine box will be made at home). Since we do not have school on President's Day, we will learn about presidents on February 21. Lastly, we will celebrate the beginning of Lent on Ash Wednesday. We have an all school mass to receive ashes on February 22. Our class will be busy in February celebrating many holidays and doing fun activities!

Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 7:54PM Hello and welcome Kindergarten families! My name is Kristin Enriquez and I will be one of the Kindergarten teachers for the 2011-2012 school year. This is my first year at St Benedict School. I wanted to start off by telling you a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. I went to both a Catholic grade school and high school. After high school, I went to Indiana University. I received my degree in elementary education. When I graduated, I decided to go right back to school to receive my Masters in Special Education. Currently, I am finishing up my classes at National Louis University. In addition to going back to school, I was a teaching assistant at St. Joseph School in Wilmette, IL. I am very excited to work at St. Benedict School and to meet all of you. I look forward to a great school year!
