Week of Monday, May 14- Friday, May 18, 2012
Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 7:05AM Our Past Week at a Glance (May 7-May 10)…
This past week, we have continued working on Unit 10 of our Math Unit. We have used sets of data to find the median (middle number), mean (average), and mode (most used). In Social Studies, students learned two different ways people have a voice in their community- supporting a candidate and voting. During Language Arts, we discussed possessives and prepared for Thursday’s Portfolio Night. Thanks for coming out! The students were very excited to share their hard work with their families. Students discussed the importance of keeping the Earth clean in our Family Life unit.
What to look Forward to (May 14-18)…
Next week students will finish Unit 10 and take their Math Test on Wednesday, May 16. We will begin our final unit of the year! In Language Arts, we will work with a magazine on editing, reader’s theater, and review nonfiction text features. In Social Studies, we will discuss the different levels of government. I will continue testing students in their guided reading levels. I am happy to see the strides our students made throughout the year!
