Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 9:43AM Our Past Week at a Glance (May 13th-17th)
This past week in Math, students used spinners to explore probability, and finished our last Homelinks assignment. During Language Arts, students practiced visualizing with the fairy tale, Rumpelstiltskin. , Students were assessed on their grammar skills, and revisited the “Lost and Found” writing piece to show writing progress throughout the school year. In Science, students explored the different phases of the water cycle. In Social Studies, students brainstormed rights and responsibilities we have as United States citizens.
What to look Forward to (May 20th-24th)
During Math, students will finish our last unit on probability. In Writing, students will create their own myths. During Reading, students will explore fairy tales, fables, and folktales. In Science, students will use song and dance to interpret the Water Cycle. During Social Studies, students will compare and contrast three ancient civilizations.

This week in Math, students finished Unit 10. During Language Arts, and Writing students practiced and prepared for Portfolio Night. We are very proud of our portfolio pieces from 3rd grade! In Science, students reviewed the Water Cycle. During Social Studies, students discussed the national government branches.
What to look Forward to (May 13th-17th)
During Math, students will begin Unit 11 and learn about probability. During Writing, students will revisit a writing piece, “Lost and Found”, that we first wrote at the beginning of the school year. In Language Arts, students will be assessed on various grammar skills, such as, punctuation, homophones, prefixes and suffixes. In Science, students will continue to review their knowledge of the Water Cycle. During Social Studies, students will determine citizens’ rights and responsibilities.
