Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 9:09AM This week our fifth graders completed a portfolio project involving the printmaking process. Students designed a greeting card with a specific purpose. After developing thier design, they transfered their imagery to a foam plate creating their own stamp that can be used many times to create many copies of the same image. Students then used ink and brayers to print copies of their greeting card.
Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 3:24PM During exploration of narrative art (art that tells a story), Introduction to art students worked to discuss and explain how artists use imagery to communicate ideas, stories, and messages. Students chose a magazine image as inspiration for a narrative piece. After choosing an image and brainstorming possible stories, ideas, and messages that relate closely to the image, students used a combination of materials to develop a mixed media work of art. Keep up the great work 7th and 8th graders!
Friday, March 23, 2012 at 1:07PM Our first graders have been doing an amazing job working to explore different painting methods! Mrs. Lawrence's first graders have been working to create a painting using lines and color that communicate celebration. Keep up the wonderful work!
