Advisory Board

The School Advisory Board is the policy-making body of St. Benedict Preparatory School, acting in accordance with the Archdiocese of Chicago, St. Benedict Parish Council Board, our Pastor, Chief Executive Officer, Heads of School, and Mission Advancement Office.  The Board represents a comprehensive interest in SBPS, which includes Preschool, Elementary School, Middle School and High School. In addition to advising on policy matters, the Board identifies educational needs, establishes objectives for educational programs, develops the annual school budget, monitors conformance to budget and manages long-range plans.  The Board has four required meetings throughout the year, in August, October, February and June, as well as any additional meetings deemed necessary.  Committees of the Board meet monthly and are where the substantive work of the Board takes place.  Committees include:

• ·         Institutional Advancement
• ·         Strategic Planning and Policy Implementation
• ·         Development
• ·         Nomination and Membership

Committees are chaired by a Board member and include other Board Members and Associate Board members.  Associate Board members serve on the Committee, they are not required to attend the Board meetings and do not have voting rights.   Serving as an Associate Board member is a wonderful introduction to the Board, and a great start for getting more involved on the Board.
