The 4th ANNUAL BABY & KIDS “GREEN” GARAGE SALE was a HUGE SUCCESS!!!

The gross sales from this year's sale were $17,430 - a 28% increase over last year!!!  This was all made possible by donations of clothing, large baby gear items, furniture and toys from MANY wonderful families from our school and parish community!  After deducting $1,640 in expenses and $1,580 for the parish debt tax, the net profit of $14,210 will benefit the Preschool, Elementary and Middle School teachers’ curriculum needs!  In just 4 years, our gross sales have almost doubled - 93% increase from the 1st year!

Everyone played a part!

Thank you for your donations, volunteer hours, referring family and friends to come shop . . . anything you did to make this year's sale a success is greatly appreciated!

St. Ben's Prep volunteers are the best!

This event takes manpower and would not have been possible without the 75+ volunteers who helped at drop-off days, sorting donations, setting up and working the day of the sale. You offered your time willingly . . . came on time to your shifts and often stayed longer . . . came to work the day of the event even though you had not signed up . . . helped with clean-up and distributing unsold items to our designated charities impromptu . . . highlighted the goodness of St. Benedict's to the community!!!

The sharing was extended after the sale!!!

All of the unsold goods from the sale were donated to local, very deserving charities, all extremely grateful for the generosity of St. Benedict’s: The House of the Good Shepherd, The Mission of Our Lady of the Angels and Goodwill Industries.

It is never too early to get ready for next year!

When the "spring cleaning" bug catches you throughout the coming year, please keep the 5th Annual Baby & Kids "Green" Garage Sale in mind!  Our sale has a great reputation for the high quality of our donations thanks to you!  Donation collections will start again in August 2012.

Our teachers were able to shop the sale during a special "Teacher Shopper Hour" on Friday.  Lots of nice furniture made its way to many classrooms as well as books, puzzles, games, toys and much more.  These items priced at our "bargain prices" totaled roughly $900-$1,000. The teachers are extremely thankful!

If you made a donation and did not turn in a Garage Sale Contribution Form, it is not too late.  Please fill out the attached form by October 1st and give to Mrs. Lawlor or Mrs. Bennett.  An acknowledgement letter, along with your original donation form, to be used with your taxes will be mailed to you in October!

Thank you for your support,
